Principal's Message
Greetings from Don Bosco School. We are in the beautiful month of October ,a time when we shall hear the melodious music and prayerful chants from the 'Puja pandals' all around us. Let me wish you all, a very happy days of the Puja festival and Divine blessings from above. It is also a reminder to all the students and their families to enjoy the festival in a safe and protective atmosphere. Let us remind ourselves that Covid-19 is still haunting us and perhaps, hunting us. Hence stay safe, wear masks, sanitize yourselves and be safe. I am happy to send this message on the day of Gandhi Jayanti: the birthday of Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi, the Father of our Nation. We need to remind ourselves again and again about the ideals for which he lived and died. He lived at a time when this nation was being torn apart due to hatred and violence among people. He showed us how to bring peoples together- through Non-violence and love for each other. Today we may be living in a similar situation. We need to emulate the path shown by this Mahatma ( great soul). Mid-Year Assessment/ Examinations are coming to a close. Open day, for the parents to come along with their child to check the examination papers, is scheduled to be on the 8th and 9th of this month. The Puja vacation will go on up to the 20th October. School re-opens for physical classes on the 21st October. The government department has ,recently given permission to begin physical classes for the students of Nursery to class V. You will be informed ,well in time, the schedule for the physical attendance in the school ( i.e: which class would attend school, on which all days). Let us take care of ourselves during this festival , so that we are able to attend class in the school without any fear and anxiety. We would like to congratulate Srijeeta Debbarma of Class 7C for winning the bronze medal in the kumite category during the National Karate Championship held at Guwahati, recently. Congratulations to Avishika Choudhury of 5B for winning the bronze medal during the same Championship. Don Bosco school gives a lot of importance to Co-curricular activities which, in the National Education policy, would become curricular activities. We hope to formulate a viable sports policy for the school. We believe that these activities supplement the academic activities of your children. Nursery Admission process, this year, was brought forward due to the pandemic situation. We hope to complete the Nursery admissions by the 8th of October. Let me take this opportunity to inform you all that year 2022 is the Silver Jubilee year of the foundation of this school. We hope to celebrate it in a fitting and a meaningful manner. Once again , I , on behalf of Fr Rector and Vice Principal, along with the Managing Committee of the school, wish you all a very safe and grace filled days of the Puja festival. May you receive abundant divine blessings . Affectionately, (Fr Sebastian Palatty sdb) Principal -Fr Sebastian Palatty sdb
